Launch has a date. The week after does not, which is why it disappears from the plan. That is a mistake. The first real users, the first wrong record, and the first request to change a rule all arrive when the celebration has moved on.
Protect three things
- A person who still answers when the thread is no longer exciting.
- A written place for exceptions, so they do not hide in chat.
- Time to make the first change while the model is still in living memory.
The first change is the test
If the first change requires the original author, the system is still a prototype. That is allowed — if you say so. If you said it was finished, the week after is when you find out you were describing a screenshot.
Done is not the day it shipped. Done is the day someone else changed it safely.
