Fieldline already had tools. None of them agreed on what a job was. Orbit sits above those systems and gives dispatch a single picture of work in motion.

Challenge

Replacement was not an option.

The warehouse system and the contractor roster were staying. The problem was coordination: who is assigned, what is blocked, and what changed since this morning.

Solution

A control plane, not another app to ignore.

Orbit models jobs, crews and status changes. It writes back to the systems Fieldline already runs. Supervisors get a live list. Crews get a short, current brief.

Outcome

Dispatch stopped rebuilding the day in a spreadsheet at 6am. The source of truth is still imperfect. It is no longer five sources.
